NYC Day 1

It's officially summer for this SLP!!!!

I couldn't be more excited and now I have time to recap our wonderful trip to New York City with my Dad and Kendall! :-)

We drove down to Charlotte on Thursday, May 25th after work. We got there just in time to get Luci's things unpacked and get some sleep before our flight the next morning!

Friday morning we caught a 10:10am flight which put us in NYC right at lunchtime. We caught a bus  -->subway to our hotel to drop off our bags then we were off to eat and explore.

We headed down to East Village to eat at Miss Lily's. I found out about this Jamaican restaurant while watching Chopped. Y'all. It was delicious!! The jerk chicken was amazing and the atmosphere was so fun too.

We had 2:30 reservations at the Tenement Museum so we walked over to the Lower East Side for our tour!

I didn't take any pictures inside, but it was a really neat tour. We got to see a tenement house just as it was when immigrant families lived there in the early 1900's. My favorite part was hearing the personal stories from families who lived in that exact building. What a different way of living!!

After we left the Tenement Museum, we were ready for a snack at Do. We had to wait in line about 45 minutes, but it was yummy!!

After our treat, we walked over to Washington Square Park and it was such a beautiful night!! We all agreed that it'd be nice to spend a whole evening there just relaxing :-)

It was around 6:30 by the time we decided to leave WSP and all of our phones were dying Ha ha We decided to head back to our hotel to charge our phones, rest, and refresh before a late dinner!

We ended the night by having dinner at Chevy's and walking through Times Square. Our first day was a great start to our weekend!!

To see the rest of our trip:
