SUMMERy of August!

Well, I've returned to work! It is so hard to say goodbye to relaxing days at home with Luci, but I was excited to see my co-workers and get back into a routine.

Before I get into the throws of fall and the craziness that comes with it, I wanted to wrap-up our last bit of summer fun!

Day dates with friends

I enjoyed one last get together with Becky and her kids. One of my very favorite parts of summer break is getting to spend time with my friends during the day! We agreed that I should stay at home with Luci ;-)

Barrett got engaged!!

My best cousin got engaged!! I'm SO excited for her and Stephen and I can't wait for all of the festivities to begin!

Summer Reading

I LOVE to read for fun, but it just doesn't happen much during the school year. Here is my stack of summer reads. I didn't get to finish Secrets in Summer, but I loved the other three :-)

Trip to Roanoke

My Grandaddy was visiting Roanoke (one of his favorite places), so we took the opportunity to go see him since he was so close! I'm so glad we got to visit with him and my Uncle Charles. It's hard living 6-7 hours away from my grandparents. We ended the evening by having dinner at The Homeplace. That is some GOOD home cooking :-)

Glasses

Well, I finally bit the bullet and went to the eye doctor. My vision loss isn't bad at all, but I can definitely see much better from a distance!

State Fair

When the state fair is in your town, you have to go at least once ;-) We went on a Wednesday night to have some deliciously awful food and see the animals Ha ha

Anna's Move-In Day

I got to meet my family to help move Anna into college!!! It was SO fun being back in Boone and I just know she is going to love it :-)

Dad and Kendall's visit

Dad and Kendall came to visit last weekend and it was a fun way to end the summer! We spent time relaxing, roaming the Greenbrier, and eating out.

Snuggle time

And of course I can't leave out the sweet snuggles from my girl that I made sure to treasure :-)

Goodbye Summer, hello school year!

Our 2nd Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 2nd anniversary!!

It's so fun to have the day off on your anniversary :-) Andy had to work though so we waited to celebrate when he got home.

We love to go out to dinner together, so instead of gifts, we had a delicious dinner at The Forum at the Greenbrier.

Quality time is high up on both of our "love language" lists, so this was the perfect way to celebrate and reflect on the best day ever :-)

I just love my handsome husband! If I could relive our wedding day over and over again, I would in a heartbeat. But, the best part of being his wife is that every ordinary day is wonderful too.

We had a sweet anniversary card waiting on us when we got home too. Our neighbor is the best :-)

I love you Andy, Happy Anniversary!!

A Perfect Summer Weekend

This weekend has been one that just made me smile. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but just enough to make it perfect :-)

Friday night we got to look at a home (we've been looking at houses to buy this summer) and spend the rest of the night at home relaxing.

Saturday brought gorgeous weather, think a high of 70!, so Andy started the morning off grabbing us some bagels from the Farmer's Market and going to a golf lesson at the Greenbrier.

Once he got back, we ventured over to Moncove Lake State Park

Since we didn't bring a fishing pole and hammock, we decided to stop by the Cheese and More store and hike Hanging Rock to see the Raptor Observatory.

We made it home afterwards in time for a late dinner and then we wrapped up the weekend with church today and a Sunday afternoon nap :-)

I just love beautiful weekends spent outside with my sweet husband and pup!

Snapshots of July

Other than family time over the 4th of July and my trip to Myrtle Beach we've spent a lot of time in town together and with friends.

In July, we..

took Luci to Bluebend,

went blueberry picking with friends,

spent time at the pool,

had plenty of date nights at home and going out,

(this fortune cookie script was too funny since I have been exercising more ;)

spent time at the splash pad and park with friends,

had many visits with "Granny" and Bailey next door in the evening,

& finally, we spent many nights watching beautiful sunsets outside :-)

Oh July, how I hate to see you go!!
