January Wrap-Up

Well, here we are at the end of January and we HAVE seen quite a bit of snow! Nothing that has accumulated to much but enough to warrant some snow days!! Today was actually a "Reimagined Time" day, so I had to work but the students stayed home and completed "snow day packets."

I've also been dealing with some ear issues ever since my sickness around New Year's Day. They just recently started to feel super clogged so that's been fun (not). Needless to say, things have been pretty slow around here, but it's been perfect!

Here are some random pictures of what we've been up to since Martin Luther King Jr day.

A random week night with my loves <3

... and the view from my snow day the very next day :-)

Luci wanted some of our Chinese take-out ;-)

This particular weekend we had a game night with the Connor's on Saturday and then enjoyed brunch after church at the General Lewis Inn.

On nights that Andy gets home late, this one stays by the window waiting for him to arrive

Of course, we celebrated Luci's birthday on January 24th :-)

This past weekend I went to a jewelry party hosted by my SLP girls, Alexanne and Dawn. The only picture I took was of the beautiful cupcakes she served #priorities

Finally, here is the current state of the hearing in my right ear. If you aren't familiar with tympanometry, this is not good. Hah You are supposed to have four tall green lines on that graph!

Let's hope February brings better hearing and more relaxing ;-)

Luci's First Birthday!

Happy Birthday to our sweet, fluffy girl, St. Luci B!!!!

I haven't updated in a while, but things have pretty much mellowed out with our girl. She's potty trained, sleeping through the night, and used to her routine. She still loves to chew and bark and we don't quite trust her enough to leave her out of her crate yet during the day, but she's getting to be a big girl :-)

I shared on instagram that I think she had a pretty good day!

She went to the groomer and here are the before and after pictures Ha ha

Granny brought over a sweet card and some treats!

& I about died laughing when I left the living room for a minute to use the bathroom and I came back to the ribbon lying on the couch. That stinker got those bones off of our entry table and gobbled them right up Haha!

I made some peanut butter doggy cupcakes and when Andy got home we sang to our girl and let her have one #sheisourchild :-)

She took about two licks then RAN to the living room with the whole thing in her mouth. She ate it in about 2 seconds.

Her night ended with a snowy walk!

She may drive us crazy sometimes, but we love our Luci so SO much! She brings us joy every day and we wouldn't trade her for anything :-)

Tuesday Talk: Snow Days

Today I'm linking up with Erika and Ashley for Tuesday Talk!

I thought this would be the perfect time to discuss snow days.

Growing up in Charlotte, I never really anticipated snow days. The snow storms we did have were SO much fun but they just didn't happen often so it wasn't something that was constantly on my mind. However, once I got to college in Boone, snow days became a reality. I'm not a huge fan of winter so wishing for snow days got me through the bitter cold and gloomy days Ha ha

I have SO many fun memories of playing in the snow, walking to class in the snow with friends, and enjoying lazy days off class at my apartments with my roommates.

Now that I live in West Virginia, snow days are pretty common around here too :-) They just look a little different than in college Ha ha

Andy is a work, so Luci and I lounge ;-) Since we've been "back to school" after break, we've only gone 3 whole days. We got out early today due to an impending storm headed our way. I will never complain about snow days being called because I know it is a tough decision for all of those involved in the process. Whether you're out playing and having fun or relaxing inside, snow days are nice!

It is looking like we may have a snowy winter. Only time will tell!

What memories do you have of snow days? How often do you get them?

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Monday!
When are Mondays ever happy? When you have them off, of course :-)

Martin Luther King Jr Day is always a nice break in the hustle of getting back to work/school/schedules, etc. I got to go to Mocksville this weekend to visit Mindy and Marc! Andy was going to come too, but he had some church obligations and couldn't make it.

It was SO fun to be back with my college roommate and best friend. Our pups got to know each other too Ha ha

Saturday was spent relaxing, getting our nails done, doing a little retail therapy, and having a delicious dinner out! Basically what Saturdays are made for :-)

It was fun getting to go to Mindy and Marc's church on Sunday morning and then it was sad to say goodbye! It is hard living away from all of your closest friends. I'm so thankful for the time we got to spend together!!

Lastly, one hilarious memory to note is that Luci's FAVORITE toy of Otis' was this champagne glass. It holds treats inside and is the hard plastic that she loves to chew. We had to laugh every time she had it between her paws Ha ha

The Great Christmas Post of 2017! {Part 2}

Happy 2018!

Today was scheduled to be our first day back to school but the weather had other plans. This entire week is going to be brutally cold, so we'll so how that goes!

We wrapped up our holiday travel with Christmas in Craigsville!

Andy and I opened our gifts Friday night while the snow fell outside

We relaxed the rest of the weekend and then we made it home in time to make some brownies and watch the ball drop!

I can't believe the holidays have come and gone. I said it on my last post and I'll say it again, we are blessed to have wonderful families to spend the holidays with!! Here's to 2018!
