August Highlights

August (no, really the whole summer) has flown by and now I'm back in the swing of school. August was just a little slower than July, but we still had plenty of fun!

We kicked off August with a pool/golf day. It was gorgeous!! I got to sit by the pool, read, and swim while Andy golfed in the Mitsy's Wing's golf tournament.

More summer sunsets on our nightly walks :-)

We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary on August 8th!

We had a delicious dinner at the Livery Tavern and ended our date with blizzards from DQ :-P

The next night we had to make a visit to the State Fair of course! We met our friends Becky and Andrew there with their kids and it was a great time. Watching kids "live-it-up" at the fair is awesome Ha ha

We went on our trip to Tennessee with Andy's family in the middle of the month. When we returned, I got in as many lazy, cuddle days with Luci + pool days as I could before it was time to go back to work!

We watched the State Fair's fireworks on August 18th and this has become a a symbol of the end of summer...

...because on Monday, the 20th, I headed back to work!

I'm so thankful I finally have a space of my own at my middle school and my elementary school!

Just in time for "back to school/back to work," a new restaurant opened in town and it is delicious!! They serve amazing donuts and breakfast/lunch options. This will definitely be a place I'll be picking up lunch from time to time :-)

School started back for the kids on August 27th and I was back to the grind! I just had to stop one day and take a picture of this beautiful playground view while I had recess duty. (All of the kids happened to be on the left so I could snap the picture :-)

Finally, we ended the month with a couple of "ouchies." I'll spare a picture of my leg, but on Sunday, I got stung by a yellow jacket on my thigh and it was awful! It created a huge welt that was itchy and hot for days! Then today, Luci was groomed and one of her nails bled when she got home. Look how pitiful she looks. Ha ha!

Here's to September!

Tennessee Vacation

Andy got to take off a couple more days for us to take a vacation to Tennessee with his family!

We drove down to Pigeon Forge last Saturday on August 11th.

We had lunch with Mark and Stephanie, checked into our cabin, unpacked, and went out to dinner that evening. We came back and went to bed pretty early so we could pack in a lot of fun the next day!

Andy and I were the first ones up on Sunday morning, so we enjoyed reading on the back deck.

After the guys played some pool, we drove down to Gatlinburg!

It is a beautiful town and my favorite place we visited on the trip.

We took the aerial tramway up the mountain.

We walked around the shops at the top of the mountain, grabbed a bite to eat, and then Andy, Eric, and I rode mountain coaster :-)

Shortly after, we rode the aerial tramway back down the mountain and decided to go to The Old Mill restaurant for dinner :-)

We ended the night with a round of putt putt :-)

The next day, I took way less pictures because we slept in, went shopping at the outlets, and grabbed dinner at Johnny Carino's.

We played "the train game" and called it a night.

We had to leave on Tuesday, so we got up and went to the Titanic Museum before leaving town. It was so interesting and sad to read more about what happened that tragic day. Since we go on cruises so frequently, it was so alarming to read about the safety protocols they had (or moreso didn't have!) in place.

Even though we didn't get to stay the entire week, we had a great time in beautiful Tennessee!
