June Wrap-Up

My first night of summer break was so nice. The weather was perfect for grilling shrimp and veggies and watching God show off a gorgeous sunset!

During our first weekend of summer, we met the Isabells on Cranberry River to camp. We didn't spend the night, but it was a beautiful night to cook out and spend time together.

The rest of June looked like...

lazy afternoons,

Vacation Bible School,

and time spent with sweet friends (+ their babies) Blueberry picking...

... and at Bible study!

June was a great month. July has even more fun in store!! I just L O V E summer! :-)

Faith's High School Graduation!

I'll be honest, this June has felt ODD. The students got out of school soon after Memorial day weekend, but we've had to work 10 extra days which has made the first half of June feel long and drawn out. Thank goodness tomorrow is my last day of work and I will finally be on summer break!!

Anyways, last weekend we traveled to Charlotte for Faith's graduation!! Her ceremony wasn't until Monday so we got to have some fun over the weekend beforehand :-)

On Saturday, Faith had to work and the men stayed home while Mom, Anna, and I rode the new light rail track (blue line extension). We boarded downtown and rode over to the Shoppes at University Place.

We had brunch at the Famous Toastery and then got some ice cream from the now-famous Ninety's!

That afternoon we headed to the pool. Phil brought pizza for dinner and we stayed until dark :-)

Andy had to leave after church on Sunday so that he could return to work Monday. We had a pretty slow afternoon until I went to dinner with Dad, Kendall, Will, and Leah to celebrate Father's Day. We had a yummy dinner at Carrabas!

Monday morning was the big day! Faith's graduation was early in the morning so we all got up and out to Bojangles coliseum by 8:00!

I'm SO proud of my baby sister!!! She had to go through a lot of changes in high school (schools, siblings moving out, etc.) and she made it! I'm also SO excited for her that she is going to move to Charleston, SC and attend beauty school. She is going to do great things!

After the ceremony, we had brunch at Cafe Monte in South Park. It was a yummy way to celebrate Tay!

Sadly, after brunch, I had to head back home and finish out my work week. I'm so glad I was able to take a day and see Faith graduate!! My Mom and Phil are now empty nesters and I can't believe it! Congratulations Faith! We love you!

Travel in May

We've had a wonderful May full of friends, family, and travel!! I'm going to recap most of our trips here :-)

Abingdon, VA

I was SO excited to travel to Abingdon the first week of May to spend time with my college roommates Katlyn and Brittany!! I hadn't seen them in forever and it was just like old times- SO FUN!

We went into Bristol Friday night

We ate a delicious dinner at 620 State and then walked around taking a million pictures :-) It was such a cute little town!

On Saturday we traveled over to Boone to feel super nostalgic and also visit with my family!! My Mom and Phil came up to help Anna move some stuff out of her dorm.

We headed back to Abingdon in the afternoon, shopped at Target, ate at Texas Roadhouse, and watched the Greatest Showman.

This is our favorite way to hang out :-)
TOP weekend y'all

Charlotte, NC

Andy, Luci, and I drove down to Charlotte the second week of May! We got to celebrate Mother's Day and enjoy some beautiful weather!!

Mom had spruced up the deck and it was fun to sit out there and chat Friday night :-)

Nothing feels more like summer than a day at the pool ending with grilled veggies/meat for dinner!

My mom is just like my best friend and I'm thankful for her EVERY day, not just on Mother's Day!!

.... and this little girl is rotten! She obliged to get a picture with HER mommy ;-)

On the THIRD weekend in May we went on a beach trip with Amy and Tyler!!

Then, over Memorial Day weekend, Andy traveled to Pittsburgh, PA for a bachelor party.

Saturday looked a lot like this for Luci and I...

ha! She thought she'd help me with my teaching license class.

What a BUSY and FUN month!!! I can taste summer y'all. It's getting close!
