June Wrap-Up

June has been a whirlwind and I didn't realize how busy it was going to be until now! Ha ha

Thankfully, I didn't catch Andy's cold and I was able to be at VBS all week!!
I lead an awesome group of 1st and 2nd grade girls. I wish I could share some of the sweet pictures I took, but for their privacy, I'll keep them to myself :-) It was such a wonderful week and I'm thankful that I have the summer off to be able to serve!

Andy had "WV Day" off during VBS week so he got to come help in the morning and then we enjoyed lunch with Luci on the Ivy Terrace.

I just love summer!

This past week, I traveled to Boone to go to orientation with Anna! I was so excited to get back to Boone and it did not disappoint!! I got to eat at some of my favorite restaurants, see some of my favorite people, and enjoy the marvelous weather that is Boone in the summer :-)

One side story- Anna stayed in the dorms on Monday night, so it was just my mom and I in the hotel room. A little after midnight, I was still awake and my mom was fast asleep. All of a sudden we hear a HUGE crash. It woke my mom up in an instant and scared me to death. It ended up being the mirror in our bathroom! It fell flat on the floor while we were both in our beds. How crazy?!?? It made going to the bathroom/showering hard in the morning, so the hotel gave us another room to do those things before we left town.

The rest of my summer days have been pretty lazy and relaxed, which has been so nice. Andy and I have made it a habit to take Luci out to play after dinner and it is such a sweet time. We've seen some amazing sunsets too!

We don't have too many plans in July, except at the beginning and the end, so here's to some more relaxation and puppy cuddles :-)

Anna's High School Graduation!

As (almost) always, I'm writing this post way behind schedule (July 24th!) and I can't believe how summer has flown by!!

Luci and I drove to Charlotte the day after I finished work, on June 8th, for Anna's graduation festivities!

We spent most of the day Thursday and Friday gathering up decor for Anna's party, but we did find time to stop at the Popbar :-)

Andy joined us on Friday after work and then Saturday was party day!! It was a beautiful day and evening. Perfect for an indoor/outdoor party. We loved catching up with friends and family.

Andy had to head back home on Sunday and the rest of us just hung out until the graduation ceremony on Monday! It was at Bojangles Coliseum, just like mine was, so it took me back to my graduation day!

I am so proud of our Anna boo!!

I got to stay in Charlotte until yesterday and it was wonderful to spend more time with my family and friends before heading back to Lewisburg.

Now I'm back home and poor Andy came down with an awful sinus infection/strep throat this week. I have a feeling our weekend is going to be very low-key. We need good health for VBS and work next week!

NYC Day 3

Today, I'm wrapping up our NYC trip!

On Sunday, my Dad and Kendall had to attend a Hilton Club meeting so Andy and I got reservations for Top of the Rock at 10:00. We decided to sleep in and grab bagels from the nearby market again before going to Rockefeller.

It was a beautiful morning with just a little bit of cloud coverage, so we had great views!

I loved being able to see the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower.

One of my favorite parts was the elevator :-)

We walked around Rockefeller and into some stores before heading over to Times Square.

We ate Chipotle for lunch, went to the m&m store, and then we spent some time just sitting in Times Square, eating m&m's, and people watching. :-)

Once we heard from my Dad, we decided to meet up at a bike rental shop near our hotel so we could ride around Central Park!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day for riding!! This meant that some places we stopped at were PACKED! It was still a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

After riding through Central Park, we got in some naps and decided to meet up for dinner at Bistro Milano. It was a yummy authentic Italian restaurant and we even got to eat street side :-) We ended our night on a sweet note by stopping at a bakery near our hotel!

I had to take a picture of the real Carnegie Hall that was on the same block as our hotel :-)

We woke up on Monday morning and headed to the airport. After a gorgeous weekend, it didn't rain until we were on our way to the airport :-) I'm so glad we got to go on this trip with Dad and Kendall. It was so fun and a perfect way to kick-off summer!

NYC Day 1
NYC Day 2

I also can't leave out the fact that Luci stayed with my Mom and Phil, so we got lots of pictures throughout the weekend!! It was the first time we both left her and I think it's safe to say she was spoiled rotten with attention :-)
