Mom & Anna's Visit to Boone

My mom and Anna came to visit on Thursday!! I had a full morning of administering diagnostic tests so I was so excited to see them! The first thing my mom wanted to do is go kayaking at Price Lake on the parkway. Meghan and I did this last year over Labor Day weekend and she's been wanting to go ever since. We picked up Chick fil a and were on our way :)  

Afterwards we stopped by the Blowing Rock outlets then picked up Mellow Mushroom and stayed in the night watching TV :) Perfect girls night!

Friday morning we woke up and got ready to go river tubing! Another one of the most fun things to do in Boone in the summer, in my opinion ;)

We experienced just about every weather possible while floating down the river; it was cloudy, then sunny, then drizzled, then was sunny again. ha! It was an amazing 3 hour float and I would do it every weekend if I could!

We went back to my apartment, changed, and then went out for a late lunch at Our Daily Bread before they had to leave. 

I LOVE when my family visits. It was so nice to have them in Boone. I wish they could come more often!! 

My Best Friend is Engaged!!!

Who would have thought my best friend since birth and I would get engaged within months of one another!? So, so neat! And SO exciting!! Amy and Tyler got engaged this past weekend and I am beyond thrilled for them! I could not dream of a better guy for Amy. Andy and I love spending time with Amy and Tyler and I just know we'll be friends for life :) After Tyler popped the question, Amy's parent's threw a surprise party at their house! Highlights & Happenings

I haven't sat down and written a brain dump of recent happenings around here in a while. I just haven't had the motivation at. all. If I said last semester was hard, this semester is flat out exhausting. Going from 5:30am to 7:30pm nonstop will wear anyone out! I get home and I want to sleep for days ha ha Thankfully there have been some fun things going on too ;) 

The first weekend after being back at school Andy and I went to Charlotte for John's 2nd birthday party. I was so excited to spend time with my mom's family and hang out by the pool!

The next weekend consisted of making smoothies with Sophie, which turned out to be hilarious, Parkway trips with Meghan, & outlet shopping with Meghan and Mindy :)

This past weekend held some EXCITING news that I will post about tomorrow :) & finally today I went to the Blowing Rock Pool with Mindy and Meghan and in true Boone fashion, we got rained out ha ha

Wedding Plans!! {Venue, Photographer, Flower Girls, & Ring Bearer}

Wow this is the longest blogging break I've taken since being back in the swing of blogging!! I wanted to come back with some wedding news!!

Our date is August 8, 2015

{First}

 After touring 5 venues in Charlotte with my closest friends & family, I chose Charlotte City Club as our venue!

I am in love with the space!! It is in downtown Charlotte on the 31st floor of the West Trade building. What sealed the deal is that I could not stop thinking of myself walking into the ceremony space :)

I visited the club while I was home in May. Here is me outside the front of the building :)

{Second}

My photographer is the first vendor I booked! Lori from CaptureMeCandid is taking our engagement pictures, my bridals, and the wedding photos! Several girls at my mom's school recommended her and I already see why. She is just awesome and her photography is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to work with her in August for our engagement session :)

{Third}

I asked my flower girls and ring bearer to be in our wedding a couple weekends ago!! It is no surprise that I will have children in my wedding. I have a passion for working with children and it just wouldn't be right for these special little people to not be a part of our big day! 

My flower girls are S & E. I have been their nanny for three years and I just could not imagine any other girls more perfect for this role :) I love these girls and I know they will make gorgeous flower girls. I gave them books about being flower girls to ask them :)

Our ring bearer is my second cousin John! He is my cousin Ashley's little boy and I just love him to pieces! We asked him to be our ring bearer by giving him a shirt at his birthday party :)

We will also have my second cousins Emma, Jordan, and Tyler pass out programs :) I just love that my closest family and friends have special roles in our wedding, it means a lot! 

Next on my list is asking my bridesmaids, booking a dj, and meeting with our wedding planner!
