On day 3 we woke up to a beautiful view out our port hole! The sun was shining and we were ready for Bermuda.
We actually didn't arrive until about 1:30, so after a late breakfast/brunch, Andy and I stood on one of the top decks and watched as we pulled into port. It was neat to see the patches of "light" ocean versus "dark" ocean. You could tell where there were patches of coral :-)
Once we arrived, we got off the ship quickly to catch a shuttle to Horseshoe Bay. It has been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We were excited to check it out!
The drive there was so pretty. There is a lot of stone work surrounding the streets of Bermuda.
After our first few glances of Horseshoe Bay, we agreed that it IS one of the most beautiful beaches!
The sand really was pink!!
We set up camp near the water with our two lounge chairs. It was pretty close to perfect ;-)
Funny story about this rock... About halfway through our time on the beach, this man, who may have been a local, swam out to it, climbed it, and stood on the top for awhile. It attracted everyone's attention and after about 5 minutes, he finally dove in to the water. Everyone cheered and then SO many young people swam out and jumped. It was funny to see so many people flock to it after that one man jumped off.
Also, remember how I cliff jumped in Hawaii? Well there were a lot of people climbing the cliff on this beach, so I was curious to see it for myself. It was way too high to jump off of, but I still wanted to check it out. Well, I got about 10 ft into the climb and the rocks were SO narrow, I couldn't even fit my two legs through the passageway without getting scraped up. The picture below is how far I climbed Ha ha
The last thing we did on the beach was venture over to this rocky, cove area where people were snorkeling. The water was pretty cloudy so we didn't see much but it was still a beautiful swim.
We were sad when it was time to leave Horseshoe Bay, but it had been a "Bermudaful" day! :-)
We drove over the world's smallest drawbridge on the way back to the ship. See that tiny little slip? It's just barely wide enough when it opens for a sail on a sailboat to pass through.
I think this post is already chock-full of pictures, so I will recap our night in Bermuda in my next post :-)
