We just returned from an AMAZING cruise vacation!! We haven't taken a vacation trip together, just the two of us, since our honeymoon and it was much needed! We actually decided on this trip last minute (around April!). Andy doesn't really get days off so when we realized he would only have to take 2 days off to go on a 5-night cruise, we made it work!
We were both so excited because we had never cruised from the Baltimore port and we had never been to Bermuda.
We dropped Luci off with our sweet boarder on last Friday night and we left EARLY Saturday morning for Baltimore. After a quick 4.5 hour drive, we arrived at the port and were ready for vacay!!
We made it on the ship, Grandeur of the Seas!
& we were off! Cruising towards Bermuda :-)
It was so neat to sail through the channel between Maryland and Virginia for so long! We got to go over one of the sea tunnels and under two bridges!
You can see the top of the bridge JUST over the side of the ship in the picture below.
By the time we were ready for dinner, it felt like we had been between land for a long time. So, we turned the internet on our phones back on only to find we weren't even halfway through the channel! Ha ha
It was neat to have dinner together just the two of us. We are used to being with big crowds at dinner so it was fun to have a date night each evening :-)
After dinner, we were exhausted from getting up so early!! We called it an early night (at 10:30pm haha) and went to bed.
I thought our breakfast view was stunning on Day 2 :-)
I had an amazing massage Sunday morning and then Andy and I set up camp to lay out and relax by the pool.
The last time I was aboard Grandeur of the Seas, I participated in a synchronized swimming competition with my girlfriends. It was only fitting to compete in a volleyball competition this time! :-)
Sunday night was our formal night, so we returned to our rooms a little earlier than normal to get fancy.
It was also Captain's Night!
We walked around the ship after dinner, watched some shuffleboard and ping pong, and just enjoyed the pretty night at sea.
Of course, our day ended with a towel animal :-)
