Hawaii Days 3 & 4

Our trip to Hawaii was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

DAY 3:

We had such a great day on Saturday, we decided to spend another day on the beach on Sunday :-) We went to a different lagoon than the day before and we quickly decided this was our new favorite spot.

Sunday night we headed to the market center at our resort and chose to eat at a place called "Two Tacos." It was delicious!! Mom and Phil claimed it was the best Mexican they had ever eaten :-)

DAY 4:

Independence Day!

The fourth of July has always been my favorite holiday and I was thrilled to spend it in Hawaii this year! We made plans to visit Pearl Harbor and then explore afterwards. We arrived at Pearl Harbor around 6:45am and we were able to snag 6 tickets to the USS Arizona and an audio tour through the museums.

I recorded on Facebook that it was very humbling to visit Pearl Harbor on Independence Day. It was a great reminder that our freedom costs so much. There were so many brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for us, just on that December day. There are still SO many who are doing so each and every day. I am forever thankful for their service.

After we left Pearl Harbor we headed to Kailua and Lanikai. These beaches were recommended to us by many people, so we knew we had to check them out! When we arrived in Kailua, the roads were blocked off for an Independence Day parade, so we decided to watch with the locals :)

Once the roads were clear, we ended up parking at Kailua Beach Park and setting up on Lanikai Beach. It was absolutely stunning. I will never forget the beauty of that beach!

Once we left Lanikai, we headed back to our condo to relax at the pool and grill steaks for dinner! After a delicious meal, we headed to "lagoon 2" to watch a firework show put on by the resort. It was a fantastic show and the perfect ending to a great holiday :-)
