From the Ground Up

We're started to feel settled in now that we've completely moved out of our town home and we've gotten things set up at our house (appliances, internet, etc.)

Before I share some March/April highlights, I want to go back and share some pictures of our building process!

We visited the property on January 7th and after a lot of prayer and discussions with our sweet realtor, we made an offer before the end of the month. How cool is it that we had SUCH a beautiful sunrise AND sunset on January 7th?

Our house was basically studs when we first saw it, but there was a plan already in place. We did get to pick things like the counters, light fixtures, and shutters along with the appliances. We also got to 'design' (I use that term loosely hah) our fireplace and bookshelves that we had added to a wall.

Here's a look at what the house looked like on the day we walked through.

After we were under contract, we stopped by often to check on the progress. I basically took pictures every time we visited because it was exciting to see drywall! flooring! cabinets! lights! paint! appear as something new each time.

Here are a few final looks we took before we signed on the dotted line :-)

It was a fun and exciting (and sometimes stressful) process and we are so happy we ended up with new construction!
