September Highlights

September was filled with a lot of fun! I've fully embraced Fall now and I'm happy to see some cool weather arrive. Here are some highlights from last month:

Labor Day Weekend

We kicked off the weekend by having a cookout at Island Park with friends. It was a beautiful night and we had some good laughs because we ended up with a tiny grill and we stayed out until it was pitch black and we couldn't see :-P Love these friends.

Our girls group picture turned out great and the guys was so blurry Haha

We had a cookout with Andy's parents at Blue Bend on Saturday. We found a new favorite spot for next summer. It was gorgeous!

Andy was so excited to wear his football jersey. It was finally college football game day! 

We finished off Labor Day weekend with a day trip to Beckley on Monday :-) 

We spent the third weekend in September in Boone!! I was soo excited to go back. I hadn't spent time there since I moved out in December of 2014. We stayed with Mindy and Marc at Marc's parents. It was such a good time, even though App lost their game by a landslide.

& we spent the last weekend in September with Dad and Kendall! They arrived Friday night and then on Saturday we drove over to Blacksburg for the VT vs. ECU game. It was an ugly game but we still had a great weekend :-)

Finally, the last highlight of September was Andy starting his new job! It is such a great opportunity that he so deserves :-)

CRUiSE: St. Lucia & Barbados

I'm here to wrap up our last two stops on Adventure of the Seas! 

St. Lucia

 Our beloved honeymoon spot :-) Because this cruise had 5 stops, which only left one day at sea, we wanted to take one day in port to stay on the ship. Only one day at sea is just not enough time to spend on the ship! We chose to stay onboard in St. Lucia since we had been there just a year before. We still got to enjoy the views :-)

We watched the ship pull in while eating breakfast. We sailed out of that same harbor to go snorkeling on our honeymoon. 

Shortly after docking, I got to start my morning off with a massage. It was heavenly!! Happy Anniversary to me! 

Spending the rest of the day lounging around, on basically an empty ship, was so nice. It made me want to stay on the ship during port days more often! 

Barbados 

Our last stop on Thursday was in Barbados. We had plans to board the Jolly Roger pirate ship and it did not disappoint ;-)

We boarded the Pirate Ship and had two snorkeling stops. It wasn't the best snorkeling ever, but the beaches looked breathtaking from the water. Our second stop was fun though because the ship brought out their "plank" and rope swing. The real party hadn't even started yet though!

It became cloudy and rainy after our first stop. It's crazy how quickly the sky and water can change!

After our second stop, the crew cranked up the party music and the whole ship was dancing! It started raining harder and harder too. Thankfully, we were in our bathing suits so it didn't stop our fun. We danced and partied all the way back to the dock :-)

That concludes my recap of our 2016 Cruise! It was such a fun way to end our incredible summer. Royal Caribbean never ceases to offer a GREAT time :-)

CRUiSE: St. Kitts & Antigua

Our next few stops were very relaxing :-) 

St. Kitts

We stopped in St. Kitts on Monday. The island has had active volcanos before so we were thinking that some of the beaches may have black sand. We were surprised to see that the beach we picked was black sand! 

The beach was called "Shipwreck" and there was some neat snorkeling right off shore. There was also a beachfront bar that was so neat. It was like something out of a movie. There were monkeys and mongoose running around and a relaxing environment over all. Andy and I tried conch fritters and they were so tasty!

Another thing that was cool about St. Kitts is there is a small sliver of the island that you drive over to get to this beach. When driving down a mountain towards that sliver of land, you can see the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. For some reason we don't have any pictures, but it was a neat sight :-)

After many relaxing hours on the beach, we headed back to the ship.

Antigua

We stopped in Antigua on Tuesday. It was such a fun day & I think they won the most beautiful beach on this trip :-)

We went to Valley Church Beach and the colorful buildings next to the white sand and blue water was just gorgeous!

The day we stopped in Antigua happened to be the last day of their Carnival celebration. Our cab driver had to drop us off a few blocks away from the dock because of so many roads that were closed off. It was blazing hot but it was fun to see all of the locals out for a HUGE parade celebration. They were dressed nicely too. Walking through "Carnival" on our way back to the ship was a fun way to end the afternoon.

I just couldn't stand the cuteness of these little girls.
