Spring Break!

Just a couple days before Spring Break, my old faithful '99 Honda CRV bit the dust. Thankfully I already had plans to replace her over Spring Break but she just couldn't quite make it...

These are my last moments with my Honda before it was towed away from the parking lot at school. She served me well and kept me safe for 12 years (and over 100,000 miles!) !!

Andy and I celebrated Easter at our church by going to the sunrise service at Island Park and then to our Easter service at church. It was a chilly morning! We drove up to Andy's parents house afterwards to have dinner together.

The next day I flew down to Wilmington to spend time with Nana, Papa, and Aunt Darlene and pick up my car!!

What a fun surprise to drive up to in Nana and Papa's driveway when they picked me up from the airport!! This car has been my Nana's for the last couple of years (a 2017), but she doesn't drive anymore and they wanted to gift it to me. I'm SO thankful!!

Another sweet thing I never want to forget is that Nana had pulled down my covers and sat a water beside my bed. She's been having a hard time getting around and her mind isn't always 100% but she still took the time to have my bedroom ready for me :-)

Another look at my car in the day light!

We decided to drive over to Myrtle Beach for the day to sit on the beach and stop at the Tanger Outlets. It was a gorgeous day!

Before I left Wilmington, we celebrated my birthday with a Mexican lunch and a Nothing Bundt cake :-)

One of my favorite things to do when driving from Wilmington to Charlotte is to stop at the Peach stand in Wadesboro. Their homemade peach ice cream is amazing!

Chapman was happy to see me without Luci ;-)

I ended up being in Charlotte on my actual birthday so Mom, Phil, and I went to Firebirds to celebrate :-)

That weekend was my sister-in-law, Leah's baby shower! I got to see my Nana and Aunt Darlene again as well as Anna, Kendall, Leah, and Will :-)

We all can't wait for baby Kayden to arrive in June!!

What a fun week of Spring Break spent with lots of family! I was excited to see Andy and Luci when I got home too!

March & April (ish) Wrap Up!

With the end of April including Easter, my birthday, and Spring Break there's still a lot of fun in store! I wanted to go ahead and wrap-up the rest of March and April before I recap what goes down the next couple of weeks :-)

Most of March was spent packing and checking on our house. I did a LOT of purging while packing too!

It was funny to see Luci next to her little puppy crate.

Andy takes a little slower to pack because he reminisces and tries stuff on ... like his letterman jacket from HS ha ha

I spent time pretending it was Spring with my students ...

even though it was snowy outside!

We enjoyed a snowy date night to a new restaurant in town called The Humble Tomato

Mom and Phil came up to help us pack the weekend before we moved and it was so nice!! This is the only picture I have from the weekend so we were working hard :-)

Moving day came and we had lots of help from Andy's family and sweet friends from church!

We had to recreate the picture my mom took of us on our first day in our FIRST home together...

The biggest difference is that we added Luci :-)

Our townhome was a sweet home to us for the first 3 1/2 years of our marriage. We were so ready to call a place our own, but we have such sweet memories there!!

Luci started to settle in to what seems like will be her new favorite spot in the house :-)

It was also so funny that someone's dog stopped by and looked right in our door as if to welcome Luci to the neighborhood Ha ha

We enjoyed our first fire!!

and I got a sweet surprise from one of my students after recess.

Our lease didn't end until the last day of March, so we went back to the townhouse to clean a few more times after we moved in to our house. Here is Andy standing by our front door for the very last time before we turned in our keys!

I wore blue to support and celebrate my Autistic students on April 2nd.

Luci and I are enjoying the new views on our afternoon walks,

she's also trying to make friends with her new cow neighbors ha ha

I also attended the WV state speech conference the first week of April before taking these pictures of our house starting to feel like home.

Finally, last weekend, my Mom, Phil, and Anna were our first guests in our new house!!

We went to the Chocolate Festival on Saturday and shopped downtown :-)

It was so fun to have them visit!!

And this was my view doing the dishes tonight after dinner. I can't wait for Spring Break!
